MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball head coach
Alex Pribble announced the commitment of Whitworth transfer and NWC Player of the Year, Jojo Anderson on Tuesday.
Anderson, a 6-foot guard who played for the Pirates for two seasons, joins the Vandals with two years of eligibility. The Spokane native was the best all-around player in the Northwest Conference, earning Most Valuable Player and All-NWC First Team honors, after averaging 17.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the field. He totaled 408 points and scored 20 or more in 11 games, including a career-high of 33 in a win over Norwest (Nov. 21).
He started in 23 games for the Pirates in 2023-24 before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. Anderson finished his redshirt sophomore campaign top 5 in the league in points per game, assists per game and field goal percentage, while becoming the 14th Whitworth Pirate to win player of the year honors in program history.
Before receiving a medical hardship waiver during his second season at Whitworth, Anderson played in 27 games as a true freshman and averaged 6.2 points and 1.9 assists per game.
Anderson's prep career was marked by three consecutive Greater Spokane League titles at Mount Spokane High School and a second-place finish in the WIAA 3A state tournament in 2019.
He will join an incoming Idaho class that includes four other transfer students - Isaiah Brickner, Kolton Mitchell, Jack Payne and Jayden Stevens.
