MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho Vandal women's golf head coach Staphanie Young has announced the signing of Spanish golfer Laura Caamaño to a National Letter of Intent to join the Vandal program ahead of the 2024-25 season.
 
Caamaño is a native of Vigo, Spain, on the country's West Coast, just North of the Portuguese border.
 
She is currently the 718th ranked amateur in the world and has been competing on the national championship stage since she was eight years old. She has played in several Spanish Championships as a member of the Galicia State Team.
 
"We are thrilled to welcome Laura Caamaño to Moscow," Young said. "She is an outstanding junior golfer who will bring a wealth of tournament experience and loves to compete. Laura also excels in the classroom and is dedicated to high achievement both in the classroom and on the golf course. We are looking forward to her joining the Vandal golf program this Fall."
 
Caamaño isn't just experienced in tournament golf, she has a championship pedigree, earning three-career wins, including the 2022 and 2023 Gran Premio Xaz and the Galician U18 Championship.
 
She joins a Vandal team that looks to return the bulk of its roster from the 2023-24 season.
