Idaho Women's Golf Signs Johnson

MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho Vandal women's golf head coach Stephanie Young announced the signing of junior college transfer Kaylin Johnson from Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Arizona.

Johnson closed the year with a 34th-place finish at the NJCAA National championship at Buffalo Dunes Golf Club in Kansas, despite the airline losing her golf bag and shoes on the way to the tournament.

She played in eight events this season and finished the year with a win and five top-three finishes. She didn't finish outside of the top four before taking 12th at the NJCAA regional.

She won the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational with scores of 70-67 for a two-round total of 137.

A native of Gilbert, Arizona, she was an accomplished junior golfer, winning the 2022 and 2020 Maricopa Jr. Championship and the 2020 Prescott City Jr Championship.

"We are so excited to announce the signing of Kaylin Johnson and welcome her to the University of Idaho," Young said. "She is a gritty competitor and takes pride in excelling both on the course and in the classroom. Kaylin loves being part of a strong team culture and is excited to join the Vandal golf program soon. We can't wait for her to arrive on campus this August and begin our work together with her as a part of the team."

Academically, Johnson brings a strong resume to Moscow. She finished junior college with a 3.8 GPA and was a Presidents' Honor List honoree.

The Vandals return five players off of last year's squad who finished sixth at the Big Sky Conference Championship.
