MOSCOW, Idaho – Olivia Nelson matched her career-high with 29 points and
Rosie Schweizer added 14 to lead Idaho to a 67-57 Big Sky Conference win over Eastern Washington, Saturday afternoon.
The game was a close early, Idaho led 17-15 at the end of the first and Eastern Washington led 19-17 before the Vandals went on a 9-0 run. Idaho extended the lead to 35-25 behind Nelson's 17 first-half points.
The Vandals extended the lead to 48-31 in the third quarter before EWU made a fourth-quarter run. The Eagles went on a 9-0 run to cut the Vandal lead to 54-47, but Idaho made late free throws to hold on for the 10-point win.
The Vandals held Eastern Washington to just 22-71 (31%) shooting and outrebounded the Eagles 52-44.
Nelson's 29 points was a season high and matched her career high, which she has now achieved four times.
Anja Bukvic tallied a career-high 12 rebounds to lead the way for the Vandals.
Idaho is now 12-4 on the season and 4-1 in Big Sky play for the first time since the 2019-20 season.
The Vandals host Montana on Monday at 2 p.m. at ICCU Arena.
