FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The combination of four games in eight days, high elevation and the fast-paced Northern Arizona offense was a combination that Idaho couldn't overcome Saturday as the Vandal women fell to NAU 106-76 Saturday in Flagstaff.
Idaho came into the game as the best defensive team in the Big Sky, allowing just 56 points a game and holding teams to just 33% shooting, but the Jacks dictated the game, making 17 three pointers and shooting 53.8% from the field.
The game was a back-and-forth battle for the first quarter and a half before a 17-2 run blew the game open and gave NAU control of the game.
Hope Hassmann and
Jennifer Aadland led the way for the Vandals with 14 points each.
Olivia Nelson added 13.
Going into the game, Idaho hadn't allowed an opponent to score more than 71 in a game all season.
Idaho will look to respond against Weber State on Thursday at 6 p.m. at ICCU Arena.
