MOSCOW, Idaho - After a strong outing to open 2025 at home, the Idaho Vandals diving squad is hitting the road for the first time this year, splitting the squad up to compete in separate swimming and diving competitions.
The four Vandal divers, Saige Anderson, Kaitlyn Blackmer, Abigail Pink, and Lauren Wierschke, will travel to Flagstaff, AZ for to compete in the Lumberjack Diving Invite hosted by the hometown Northern Arizona University, starting on Wednesday, Jan 29 and running through Saturday, Feb. 1.
The 'Jacks have been a tough squad to start the season, putting up multiple strong performances since October. In a close competition with the Vandals in early November, the black and gold came out on top 167-133, providing hype for an exciting contest this week.
While the divers compete in the Grand Canyon state, the swimmers will stay in the Palouse for a home-and-home meet with the team across the border, Washington State. The Cougars are a perfect 6-0 to start the year, including a dominating 165-39 victory over a common foe with the Vandals in Utah Tech. The first day of the meet will take place at Gibb Pool on WSU's campus, and day two will be at the UI Swim Center right here in Moscow.
