No. 24 Idaho (2-4, 0-2) vs. Eastern Washington (2-4, 1-1)
MOSCOW, Idaho – The No. 24 Idaho Vandals (2-4, 0-2) head on the road, making the hour-and-a-half trip up the road to Cheney, Wash. to square off against long-time rival Eastern Washington, Austin Getz and Bill Ames will be on the call locally on SWX and streaming on ESPN+, while Dennis Patchin and Trent Cowan can be heard over the airwaves on the Vandal Football Radio Network.
This is the 30th matchup between the two Big Sky Conference rivals in series history which dates back to 1942. Idaho has a 20-9 record over the Eagles, including winning the last three games and five of the last seven in series history. Idaho has a 7-4 record against EWU in Cheney.
The Che-Scow Cup is up for grabs for the 28
th time in series history. The two teams have been playing for the trophy, formerly known as the Governor's Cup, since 1984.
Idaho comes into this game with one of the best rushing attacks in the conference and got a major boost with Elisha "Turbo" Cummings making his way back into the lineup this last weekend. With his addition to the lineup and with a standout rushing performance from
Rocco Koch last weekend, the Vandals once again put up over 200 rushing yards.
UI's offensive line has stood large this season, as all five starters have started every single game. With a strong running game, Idaho also leads the conference and is ranked sixth in the country for time of possession, controlling the ball for 33:28 every game.
Eastern Washington is coming off its bye week, having beaten Portland State by a score of 35-27 in the Eagles' homecoming the week prior. The Eagles defense is surrendering 500 yards and 35 points per game.
