GAME-BY-GAME NOTES

TBA | at Cal Poly | San Luis Obispo, Calif.

The Vandals and the Mustangs will be squaring off for the sixth time in series history, and it will be the third time in four years. Idaho is 5-0 all-time against Cal Poly, including a 42-14 win against the Mustangs in 2023 – the only game in San Luis Obispo in series history.

Sept. 3 | at Utah | Salt Lake City, Utah

There is a good amount of history between the Vandals and the Utes as the series dates back to 1908. The last time they played was in 1993 when Doug Nussmeier and the Vandals stormed into Salt Lake City and won 28-17. Nussmeier, who was recently inducted into the Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame, would go on to win the Walter Payton Award that season and the Vandals advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA I-AA playoffs. Idaho and Utah haven't played since then.

Sept. 12 | Lamar | P1FCU Kibbie Dome

Idaho's season opener will be played against Lamar. The first meeting in series history came in 2023 when Idaho went to Beaumont, Texas and recorded a 42-17 win in the season opener.

Sept. 19 | Abilene Christian | P1FCU Kibbie Dome

In the second of Idaho's six home games, the Vandals will host Abilene Christian in what is just the second meeting between the two schools. ACU hosted Idaho in Sept. 2024, Idaho escaped in a thrilling 27-24 victory.

Oct. 3 | Montana State | P1FCU Kibbie Dome

Idaho will renew one of its oldest Big Sky Conference rivalries following its bye week as it hosts the Montana State Bobcats in UI's homecoming game. This is the third consecutive home game for the Vandals. Idaho holds a 26-21-1 series lead against the Bobcats.

Oct. 10 | at Weber State | Ogden, Utah

The Vandals travel to Ogden for the first time since 2023 to take on the Weber State Wildcats in Stewart Stadium. The series was put on pause after the 1995 season and renewed in 2019. Idaho won the last meeting between the two schools in 2024, recording a 31-24 win over the Wildcats.

Oct. 17 | at Montana | Missoula, Mont.

For the second season in a row, Idaho will travel to Missoula to battle the Montana Grizzlies for the Little Brown Stein. Idaho has dominated the overall series with a 56-32-2 record against Montana. The Vandals have recorded more wins against Montana than any other school in program history.

Oct. 24 | SUU | P1FCU Kibbie Dome

Idaho hosts Southern Utah, who rejoins the Big Sky Conference in 2026, in a game in which the Vandals will be celebrating Leadership & Education Appreciation. The Vandals last played the Thunderbirds in 2021 in the spring and fall seasons, recording 33-32 and 42-24 victories that year. Idaho is 4-0 all-time against SUU.

Oct. 31 | Portland State | Portland, Ore.

In the second straight season, Idaho will be playing a game on Halloween. The Vandals will make their way west to Portland to square off against the Vikings. Idaho is 16-2 all-time against PSU, and has a 5-2 record when playing in Oregon.

Nov. 7 | EWU | P1FCU Kibbie Dome

The Vandals and Eastern Washington Eagles renew their rivalry in which the Che-Scow Cup is on the line. The Vandals hold a 20-10 series edge over Eastern Washington and a 12-4 advantage in home games. The two teams played in the Dome in Oct. 2024, resulting in a 38-28 Idaho win. The University of Idaho will be hosting Family Weekend that game.

Nov. 14 | UC Davis | P1FCU Kibbie Dome

UC Davis will make its way to Moscow for Idaho's home regular season finale. The two teams haven't played in Moscow since 2022.

Nov. 21 | Idaho State | Pocatello, Idaho

In a game in which one of the most unique rivalry trophies in college football is up for grabs, Idaho and Idaho State close the regular season in their annual in-state rivalry game. Idaho has dominated the overall series against their neighbors to the south, boasting a 33-13 record over the Bengals.
