MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals Women's Basketball team had a historic day in ICCU Arena for its home opener, as UI cruised to a wire-to-wire 94-39 victory over Walla Walla on Sunday afternoon.

Ana Pinheiro opened the scoring for the Vandals just 12 seconds into the game and Idaho never looked back. Moreira's squad conceded a bucket at the 8:53 mark of the first, but those were the only points Walla Walla scored in the game's opening frame. This was the first time since playing Sacramento State in January of this year that Idaho held an opponent to just two points for an entire quarter.
In the second period, with the score 27-7 for Idaho, Sofia Ekh, a freshman from Sweden, came in and knocked down the first of her four three-pointers for the day. Ekh was tremendous for the duration of the game, leading the Vandals with 16 points on 6-8 shooting from the floor and 4-5 from outside.

The Vandals carried that momentum throughout the game, and smoothly sailed to a 94-39 win over Walla Walla – the largest margin of victory for the Vandals during Arthur Moreira's tenure as head coach. 55 points is also the largest margin of victory since 2015 (56, vs CSUN, 106-50)
