Ricks Named to Freshman All-American Team

MOSCOW, Idaho - The FCS Football Central 2025 Freshman All-American team was announced on Monday. Idaho cornerback Caleb Ricks was named to the team.

Ricks was one of two true freshmen cornerbacks to start every game, and ranked in the top 10 in the nation for freshman cornerbacks with a 78.3 grade per Pro Football Focus. In the Big Sky, Ricks ranked in the top ten for most passes broken up with six, and he recorded an interception against UC Davis. He tallied 26 total tackles in 2025.

"Very excited to see Caleb be recognized for the work we've seen him do since he got here in June," a proud Coach Ford said of the freshman. "There was a reason he started for us from week one and never looked back. Caleb is a hard worker that is dedicated to his craft and had an amazing season."

This was the fourth year FCS Football Central has had a Freshman All-American team. Per the organization, it recognizes the best freshman players from every team in the subdivision. Ricks was one of just 11 defensive backs to be named to the Freshman All-American team.
