MOSCOW, Idaho – After a historic November in which the Idaho Vandals women's basketball team went 7-1, Hope Hassmann has been named the recipient of the Superior Floors Performance of the Month – an award given to the Idaho student-athlete who had the best overall athletic performance for the entire month.

Hassmann, a native of Maple Valley, Wash., led the Vandals in scoring at nearly 14 points per game, and she also led the team in assists at 4.0 apg. She was also named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week following her 21-point outburst against Southern Utah – a game in which she also had five assists and grabbed four boards.

She was also a crucial part of Idaho's historic comeback win against Washington State in the season opener. The Vandals were trailing WSU by as much as 15 points in the game, but came back to beat Washington State for the first time in 22 years. In that historic rivalry game, Hassmann recorded a line of 17 points, four rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

Hassman's performance throughout November is a huge reason why the Vandals were able to get off to a historic 7-1 start – the team's best start since 2015-16.

"Hope had an incredible month and start of the season for us," Head Coach Arthur Moreira said of the star guard. "On and off the court, she brings it every single day. She has been a great leader for our program and always puts the team and others first. She is a big key to such a successful start.

There are very few people who are more involved on campus and more proud of being a Vandal than her."
