Idaho is led by first-year Head Coach
Arthur Moreira – one of just two first-year head coaches in the country to lead their team to 16 or more after having a losing record the year before.
The Vandals enter this weekend's contest in third place in the Big Sky Conference and as one of the best rebounding and defensive teams in the nation. Idaho leads the conference and is ranked seventh in the nation in field goal percentage defense, forcing opponents to shoot an ultra-low 34.9% from the field. There isn't a team in the Big Sky that crashes the defensive glass harder than the Vandals, as Idaho ranks fifth in the country in defensive rebounds per game (30.7) and are eighth in the nation in rebounds per game (43).
Offensively the black and gold are led by guard
Olivia Nelson who is averaging a team-high 13.6 points per outing.
Hope Hassmann is contributing an additional 12 points to the Vandal attack. Both Nelson and Hassmann rank in the top ten in the Big Sky in scoring.
Eastern Washington is coached by Joddie Gleason who has compiled a 267-190 career coaching record. The Eagles offense is spearheaded by Peyton Howard who is tallying nearly 14 points per game.
