POCATELLO, Idaho – In a hard-fought in-state rivalry game, the Idaho vandals came up just short against the Idaho State Bengals by a tally of 75-69.

The Vandals got off to a scorching hot start, jumping out to a 9-2 lead that culminated with a Rosie Schweizer layup. The Bengals couldn't miss, however, and ended up gaining a three-point advantage by the quarter's end.

The ISU lead got up to double-digits at one point in the second frame, but Idaho fought back to cut the deficit to just four points by the end of the half, with Olivia Nelson hitting a buzzer beating layup to make the score 34-30 as the teams went to the locker rooms.

Idaho saw the gap grow as large as nine points in the third period, but a Vandal run that ended with an Ana Beatriz Passos Da Silva buzzer-beating layup cut the Bengal lead to just four points going to the final quarter.

Hope Hannsmann hit a contested layup to start the fourth and trim the deficit to just a couple of points, but Idaho State responded with a big run to solidify its position in the game, ultimately securing the result.
