MOSCOW, Idaho– There is no time for rest as Idaho track and field prepares to cross the state line for the Cougar Classic at Washington State. The clock is winding down on the 2025 outdoor season, with only three weeks of competition remaining before the 2025 Big Sky Outdoor Championships.
47 Vandals are entered this weekend, with competition taking place on Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26.
Cash Jones is slated to compete in the 100 and the long jump in Pullman, after a career-best in both events a week ago. The junior finds himself in the top ten of both Big Sky performance lists, seventh in the 100 and eighth in the long jump.
Jesuye Doherty and
Landon Peterson will join Jones in the long jump. Doherty currently sits third in the conference, with a mark of 7.23 meters set at the Oregon Preview in March.
Four Vandals rank in the Big Sky top 25 in the 800, as all four will take on the distance this weekend.
Zac Bright is one of them, taking over the second spot after a blistering 1:49.92 at the Beach Invite on April 17.
Three relay teams will represent the Black and Gold, in the form of the men's and women's 4x400 teams and the women's 4x100 group of
Jana Willems,
Alyssa Marsh,
Emelia Puerta, and
Adelyn Mitchell. It will be the first time taking the track together this season for all three foursomes.
