SPOKANE, Wash.-- Franziska Stoehr ran the ninth-fastest 200-meter time in Idaho history, and six Vandals took home first place in their events at the Whitworth Peace Meet on Friday.
Stoehr's 200-meter time of 24.31 is now the second-best in the Big Sky this season, just ahead of fellow Vandal
Blossom Omogor's 24.33.
Idaho dominated the women's 800, taking the top two spots.
Leah Holmgren took home first with a time of 2:13.02, the fifth-fastest in the conference this year.
Katja Pattis crossed the line just after with a personal best 2:13.52 in her first appearance in the event since 2022. In the 5K,
Jesse Redding took first, finishing in 17:31.46, slotting in at ninth in the Big Sky.
In the field,
Jesuye Doherty and
Shawn Twumasi Ampofo led the way both claiming the top spot in the long and triple jump, respectively. Ampofo's 14.93-meter mark is the second longest in the Big Sky during the 2025 outdoor season. Idaho also took first in both the men's shot put and discus.
Noah Culbertson's throw of 17.28 meters placed him at the second spot in the conference, with
Gioele Tengattini setting a personal best of 54.57 meters in the discus.
"It was another great weekend for our program as we hit some strong marks and showed improvement from our first meet," said Idaho Director of Track and Field, Tracy Hellman. "This is a good place to be for early April and if we can continue to work hard and stay focused we will continue to have positive results."
Idaho will take a week off before splitting up and taking on a series of meets across the West Coast the week of April 16.
