MOSCOW, Idaho - The University of Idaho women's tennis team delivered two commanding wins up east over the weekend, taking a 4-3 win over Montana State and a 7-0 sweep against Montana.

The Vandals saw their first signs of success in doubles play against the Bobcats, coming out with the point after victory on two and three.  

Moving on into the next course of action, the two teams traded wins in singles play, resulting in a 3-3 tied score. Coming through for the Vandals on court six, Chenyue Xu brought home a two-set victory and gave the match to the black-and-gold.

Although the Vandals dropped the top doubles match, they bounced back swiftly by winning the remaining doubles contests to clinch the opening point.

In singles competition, Idaho dominated across all courts. Notably, on court one, Idaho's Lena Beckx defeated Montana's Hailey Murphy in straight sets. Similarly, on court two, Idaho's Ida Johansson overcame Montana's Kelsey Phillips.

The Vandals continued their strong performance down the lineup, with victories from Diana Khaydarshina on court three, Valentina Rodas on court four, Naomi Schraeder on court five, and Selin Sepken on court six. Each match concluded in straight sets, underscoring Idaho's comprehensive win.​

This coupling wins improved Idaho's season record to 14-3, while Montana fell to 3-13. Their weekend performance puts them in the second-place slot in the Big Sky Conference.
