All-Conference Post Player Signs With Vandals

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Women's Basketball Team and Head Coach Arthur Moreira announced the signing of Debora dos Santos on Monday.

Dos Santos joins the Vandals after spending the previous three seasons at San Francisco where she was a First Team All-West Coast Conference performer in the 2023-24 season. During the 30 games she played that year, dos Santos averaged 15.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per contest. In the 14 games she played this past season, the grad student out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil scored 12.9 points per game and grabbed 7.7 rebounds per game. During her three seasons in the bay area, dos Santos also shot an ultra-efficient 52.6% from the field.

In her three seasons with the Dons, dos Santos totaled 23 points-rebounds double-doubles. In the 2023-24 season, she had a nine-game stretch where she recorded double-doubles in eight contests and was a rebound away from notching a ninth double-double. As a Don, the talented post player recorded career highs of 29 points (at St. Mary's - Feb. 29, 2024), 18 rebounds (at Loyola Marymount – Jan. 4, 2024), five assists (multiple times), and five blocks (at Santa Clara – Dec. 30, 2024)

Prior to her time in San Francisco, dos Santos spent a year at South Plains College in Leveland, Texas. She put up 13.6 points and 13 rebounds per game and was named Third Team All-American, conference Freshman of the Year and the WJAC MVP. Dos Santos spent her prep years at Wasatch Academy in Utah where she starred in basketball and volleyball. Dos Santos joins the Vandals with one year of eligibility remaining.

MOREIRA'S THOUGHTS

"I am so excited to have Deb join our program! She has produced at a very high level on a consistent top team in a strong conference. She is the best rebounder and best catcher I have ever seen. We were already a very strong rebounding team, and she will take us to another level. She is a guard's dream to play with! She has also been developing her outside game and shot the ball at a really good percentage from three this past year."
