Vandals Bring the Energy to First Day of Fall Camp

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals football team opened fall camp on Wednesday under first-year head coach Thomas Ford and his staff on the practice field outside the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.

The practice was Idaho's first of four-consecutive practices for UI prior to its first recovery day on Sunday. The Vandals' first practice with full pads will be on Monday.

"I thought the energy was great," Coach Ford said following his teams first fall practice of 2025. "Obviously it's easy to be fired up on day one, but our energy was very deliberate today. I thought we had really good communication within our position groups. I thought we did a really good job in transition, hustling everywhere we're trying to get to. The energy was phenomenal, not just from the standpoint of just being day one, but very intentional today with the energy."

The Vandals are returning 56 letterwinners – second most in the Big Sky – from last season's squad that won 10 games and advanced to the FCS quarterfinals for the second-straight season.

Idaho is slated to start its season on Aug. 30 as it crosses the Palouse to face off against long-time rival Washington State. It will be the Vandals' first game against the Cougars since 2022. There are a limited number of tickets available in Idaho's section for the season-opener. Fans who are interested can call or email Idaho's ticket office for further information.

There are 45 RV spots available to purchase for The Battle of the Palouse. The RV2 North Lot will be open from Friday after 5 p.m. through Sunday at 12 p.m. for those who have purchased a spot. RV parking is only permitted in the RV2 North Lot, and a valid RV parking permit is required for entry. Spots are first-come-first-serve.

The team will be practicing again on Thursday morning. Idaho's first practice with full pads will be on Monday, Aug. 4. The full schedule for practices that are open to the public can be found here.
