MOSCOW, Idaho - This offseason, Idaho's own
Ana Pinheiro and
Ana Beatriz Passos Alves da Silva have showcased their talent on the international stage, representing Portugal and Brazil, respectively.
Pinheiro, a returning sophomore, competes for Portugal in the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket, marking her fourth appearance at this elite-level tournament.
Pinheiro has quickly established herself as a standout player in the entirety of Europe, averaging 12.2 points per game. She also ranks second in efficiency at 8.8, and rebounds with an average of four per game.
Pinheiro's standout performances, including notable games where she scored 17 points against Slovenia and France, have positioned her as a contender for MVP of the tournament, further elevating her profile on the international stage. As of this writing, she leads in the run for MVP; fans can

Meanwhile, fellow Vandal sophomore Alves da Silva continues to shine for Brazil at the FISU Summer World University Games, marking her fifth tournament with the national team.
Facing competition from all across Europe and Asia, Alves da Silva had a standout performance when challenging Japan. She posted the second-most points for Brazil with nine, paired with three rebounds.Â
Both athletes will return to Moscow following their time playing overseas, bringing their experience back to the Vandals.Â
