LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Returning to competition after the holiday break, Idaho's dive team traveled to Los Angeles for the UCLA Diving Invitational, where they faced a deep pool of elite collegiate programs.
The Vandals delivered strong performances throughout the meet, highlighted by Maya Salvitti's consistent showing in the women's platform. Salvitti scored 237.40 in prelims, ranking 11th in program history, before posting a 232.25 in finals, which ranks 13th all-time at Idaho. She finished eighth overall in a field of 41 divers.
The senior has put together a strong season for the Vandals, recording multiple top-15 marks in the program record book and already earning a berth to the NCAA Zone E Championships.
Other Vandals also turned in strong performances on the springboard. Amelia Ward posted scores of 226.05 in the 1-meter and 202.60 in the 3-meter, continuing her early-season progress. Lauren Wierschke scored 200.15 on the 1-meter and 178.95 on the 3-meter, while Saige Anderson posted 175.65 and 184.70, respectively, gaining valuable experience against a highly competitive field.
