Volleyball Back Home to Host Portland State, Northern Arizona

MOSCOW, Idaho - After a two-week road stretch, Idaho Volleyball returns to Memorial Gym this two-match homestand, welcoming Portland State to Moscow on Thursday and Northern Arizona on Saturday as the team looks to pick up more wins in Big Sky play.

The Vandals (10-8, 1-5 Big Sky) are coming off four contests on the road that grew their win streak over Eastern Washington to three straight. The weekend offers another chance to climb the standings and secure the program's first trip to the conference tournament in six years, aided by the comforts of Memorial Gym.

Idaho hosts Portland State on Thursday, Oct. 15, a wristlet giveaway night while supplies last, before welcoming Northern Arizona on Saturday, Oct. 17 for a Spike Out Cancer match in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness. Vandal fans are encouraged to join the team in wearing pink in honor of the millions affected by breast cancer around the world. Both matches are set for 6 p.m. PT and will stream on ESPN+.

ABOUT PORTLAND STATE
Thursday brings a Portland State squad that has struggled away from home, entering at 6-11 overall and 2-4 in Big Sky play with an 0-8 road record to date. Michael Seemann's Vikings, guided by their 20th-year head coach, have picked up conference wins over Southern Utah and Montana but come to Moscow after dropping their last outing to Montana State. Though they have faced a tough stretch so far, PSU has the benefit of the longest tenured coach in the Big Sky.

ABOUT NORTHERN ARIZONA
Saturday presents another stuff test. Northern Arizona (11-7, 4-2 Big Sky) is one of the conference's hottest teams, riding a three-match winning streak that includes sweeps of Weber State and Montana and a win over Montana State. Ken Murphy's Lumberjacks are paced by standout Hanah Stoddard, the 2026 preseason MVP and 2026 Co-MVP who recently joined the program's 1,000-kill, 1,000-dig club. NAU comes to Moscow following a Thursday match at Eastern Washington.

UP NEXT
Idaho hits the road again the following week, opening with a Thursday, Oct. 22 match at Utah Tech.
