Men's Golf

Vandals Close Out Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. - Idaho men's golf finished up play at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, playing at The Reserve at Spanos Park - Stockton, California hosted by Pacific University; posting a three-round total of 303 - 300 - 292 (+31).

Brae Rogalczyk led the group with a three round score of 78-69-71 (+2). Henrik Koglin rounded out his three days with rounds of 73-72-76 (+5).  Charley Simpson carded a score of 74-83-74 (+15) and Carter Frisby closely followed with a score of 80-81-71 (+16). To finish out the group, Ben Buchanan secured a 78-78-78 (+18).

"I learned [a lot] this week in Stockton," Idaho head coach David Nuhn said following the Vandals 54 holes in northern California. "Physically, these guys are in great shape by the way, but physically [the travel] just catches up with you.

Brae had a very strong second and third round. That bogey free round two in some wind was impressive. Henrik played nicely to open the event, and Carter had an awesome final round to finish his tournament. I do believe we have all the personnel and talent necessary; it is just a matter of having it all line up for us.  When a team is counting two scores above 78 in a team round, it makes for tough sledding. These guys are resilient. We will get some much-needed recovery time, along with the opportunity to fine tune some skills, and be ready to go in Mexico at the end of the month."

Idaho returns to play in two weeks at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic at Club Campestre Monterrey in Monterrey Mexico on October 26th - 27th hosted by George Washington University.
