LONG BEACH, Calif. – Three Idaho swimmers competed at the annual Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Open Water Championships in Long Beach, California, highlighted by a top-10 finish from junior Holly Lenarz.
Lenarz led the Vandals with a 10th-place finish in the women's 5K, clocking a time of 1:04:08.8 and improving on her previous time by more than three seconds. Gabriella Stanton followed with a time of 1:06:42.1 to finish 19th, while Marie Mason finished in 1:06:49.7, improving her previous time by nearly 11 seconds.
The MPSF Open Water Championships provided the Vandals with an opportunity to compete against familiar conference opponents as they continue their season. The experience will help prepare the trio for future conference competition later in the campaign.
