MOSCOW, Idaho – Following a historic week, the Idaho Vandals Women's Basketball team is now in CollegeInsider.com's Women's Mid-Major Top 25, entering the poll at No. 22. 

The Vandals' entrance in the ranking comes following a week in which the Vandals claimed the top spot in the Big Sky Conference, knocking off Montana State in an overtime thriller, then blowing out the Montana Lady Grizzlies. UI has now won eight consecutive games and 11 of its last 12. This is the first time Idaho has been ranked this season. 

Idaho (19-5, 10-1) sits high atop the Big Sky standings, leading the conference in most overall wins and tied with Montana State – which sits at No. 17 in the same poll – for most wins in conference action. Idaho and Montana State are the only two Big Sky Conference schools in the poll. 

Statistically speaking, the Vandals have been among the nation's elite in several categories this season. Idaho has been one of the best in Division I at crashing the glass all year, ranking fourth in the nation with 47.1 rebounds per game. Idaho also ranks in the top 25 nationally for bench points per game (27.1 – 15^th), rebound margin (11.5 – sixth), defensive rebounds per game (31.4 – fourth), and scoring offense (79.8 – 22^nd).

Idaho also boasts one of the best homecourt advantages in the nation, having totaled 20 wins in ICCU Arena since the start of the 2024-25 season. The Vandals have ranked towards the top of the Big Sky in attendance over the past two seasons. 

The Women's Mid-Major Top 25 is in its 16^th season and is voted on by 31 Division I coaches. The poll can be seen in its entirety here.

UP NEXT: The Vandals will travel to Ogden, Utah on Thursday, Feb. 12, to take on Weber State. The game will tip off at 5 p.m. PT.
