Vandal Javelin to Take on West Coast Relays

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Vandals continue their outdoor season with the West Coast Relays meet in Clovis, California. The team is sending two javelin throwers to represent the Black and Gold, Baylee Wroble and Blake Sturgis. The men's javelin is set to start at 9:00 a.m. PST on Saturday, March 28 and the women will follow.

Sturgis is a senior thrower in his first season with the Vandals. He recently placed first in
javelin at the Sam Adams Classic this past weekend, launching a 66.62m (218'7") throw to earn the first Big Sky Athlete of the Week title of the outdoor season. In his previous outdoor season with Washington State, he secured first at three meets, including the 2025 PAC 12 Open. The senior threw his personal best of 68.25m at the WSU Cougar Classic in April.

Wroble
, a sophomore who also came to Moscow after a season competing for Washington State, placed first for the Vandals last weekend as well. Previously, Wroble reached her personal best as a Coug at the 2025 Buc Scoring meet, with a 46.23m (151'6") throw. In high school, Wroble competed in multiple events but has since narrowed it to just javelin in her collegiate career.
