Gonzaga Prep's Dylynn Groves Marks Tenth Signee for Vandal Hoops

MOSCOW, Idaho - Gonzaga Prep product Dylynn Groves has signed with the Idaho men's basketball team, marking the fifth high school addition head coach Alex Pribble's staff has secured this offseason.

"Dylynn is a unique and special pickup for us," Pribble stated Friday. "He is a high level player and incredibly tough young man who has been battling injuries much of his high school career. When we dug into the type of person he is - his competitiveness, his personal drive, his desire to be great, and combined that with the talent and production that he showed when he was healthy - we thought he was a no-brainer to bring into the program. We will give him the resources to rehab and to develop, and we believe he will be a big part of this program's success in the future.

Groves battled injury during his senior season for the Bullpups, but was a major key to G-Prep's second straight state title game appearance. The 6'5" forward was a cornerstone of a stingy defense that only allowed 47.3 points per game and further found its groove after his return in December. Groves notably had a stretch in his second game since coming back from injury, where he put up 32 points in just nine minutes of action, a stat that punctuated his First Team All-League nomination in the Greater Spokane League

The Groves family is no stranger to the Big Sky, as Dylynn's brothers Jacob and Tanner were members of Eastern Washington's conference regular-season winning squad in 2020. Tanner graduated in 2023 after two seasons at Oklahoma and currently plays overseas for the Nagasaki Velca in Japan, while Jacob played in the FIBA Europe Cup in 2025, averaging more than 17 points and six rebounds across eight games.

Groves joins his Gonzaga Prep teammate Ryan Carney and makes it five incoming freshmen who have signed onto the Vandals' 2026-27 squad, along with Jalen Williams, TJ Wal, and Nolan Newman-Gomez. Along with transfers Kase Wynott, Hudson Ward, Diego Trejo-Delgado, Brady Kennison, and Ryan Lafferty, Idaho has now bolstered the roster to fourteen Vandals for the 2026-27 season.
