MOSCOW, Idaho - A set of season-best performances from Hanna Tait in the long jump and 100m hurdles at the Desert Heat Classic highlighted a strong weekend from the Idaho Track and Field program as the Vandals continue to push forward to the Big Sky Championship. 

Fresh off being named "The Vandal" at UI Athletics annual Vandie Awards last Tuesday for her stellar 2026 indoor season, the sophomore flew to a 6.08m leap in the long jump, the second longest in the Big Sky this season and a top 100 mark nationally. After a two-hour break in Tucson, Tait competed in the 100m hurdles, posting a 13.79, two tenths of a second faster than her previous personal best from April's Bryan Clay Classic. 

Lara Holzhauer shaved nearly seven tenths off her previous personal record in the 400m hurdles, racing to a 1:00.38, the seventh fastest mark in the conference. In the 400, freshman MaKenna Ritter reset her collegiate best, running a 55.27 to place her name within the top-15 in the Big Sky. 

Idaho also competed in the Oregon State High Performance meet in Corvallis over the past two days. After a strong race at last week's Washington State Cougar Classic, Tyler Graff ran a massive personal best in the 3000m steeplechase, crossing the line in 9:22.35. Graff's Vandal Cross Country teammate Evan Jones cut over 20 seconds off his 5k personal record by posting a 15:12.02, while in the 1500m, Constanze Paoli soared to a second and a half PR at 4:25.82.
