MOSCOW, Idaho - On Monday, Idaho Athletics and Thomas Ford Jr. announced the latest addition to the 2026 roster, adding to a loaded secondary for defensive coordinator Lee Stalker with the signing of cornerback Sha'Heem Taylor.
SHA'HEEM TAYLOR - DEFENSIVE BACK - RIVERSIDE CITY COLLEGE
Taylor will instantly add size and range to the defensive backfield, standing at 6'2 and 180 lbs. The Moreno, CA native played the 2024 season as a freshman at Riverside City College, appearing in three games. He made a splash in each of his appearances, notably snagging a pick-six in the Tigers' 76-16 rout of #21 Mt. San Jacinto in October. Bolstered by this defensive effort, RCC finished with an 8-1 record, tied atop the SCFA standings, and advanced to the conference championship after knocking off #8 San Diego Mesa. Taylor collected a career-high eight tackles, with one for loss, and a forced fumble in the title game vs. top-ranked Mt. San Antonio as RCC was narrowly edged for a berth to the 3C2A State Championship.
Taylor played his high school career at Liberty HS in Henderson, NV, playing in eight games for the Patriots, collecting 22 tackles, and leading a defense that held opponents to eight points or fewer in eight of 11 contests.
The rangy corner marks the second DB signing of the summer (Daemon Fagan) for Idaho, and adds to a defensive backfield returning a number of big names in Aaron Kinsey, Hysan Dalton, and Isiah Bivins.
