Football Receives Final Non-Con Kickoff Times, Earns Additional Regional Broadcasts

MOSCOW, Idaho - At long last, the 2026 football schedule is complete.

The Idaho Vandals have received confirmed kickoff times for the non-conference matchups vs. Lamar and Abilene Christian, the last two needed to finalize the fall slate. The reigning playoff contenders will open their seasons against each other in Week 1 on Lamar's home turf in Beaumont, TX, while Idaho squares off with Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.

The Black and Gold will host the Cardinals in the 2026 home opener on Saturday, Sept. 12, in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome, with kickoff slated for 1:00 PM PT. The following Saturday, on the 19th, UI will welcome Abilene Christian to the Palouse for another 1:00 PM contest to conclude the non-conference slate, earning a much-deserved bye week before hosting Montana State on ESPN.

In addition to receiving kickoff times for the final two non-conference games, SWX has declared its intention to broadcast both contests to the Pacific Northwest. This brings Idaho's total number of games receiving a regional or national broadcast up to nine, including the first five of the season. Alongside all twelve games having the ESPN+ option, the Vandals now have two scheduled contests on ESPN, one on ESPNU, five on SWX, and one picked up by Scripps Sports. In the two years under the leadership of Thomas Ford Jr., Idaho has secured increased broadcasts for a total of 20 of 24 regular-season contests.

After an offseason packed with summer workouts, the Vandals are set to report for fall camp on Tuesday, July 28, with practice getting underway the following day. This will mark the start of the final stage of prep for the season opener vs. Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, to be witnessed nationwide on ESPN.
