High school: Three-year starter at free safety, linebacker and tight end ... as a senior, earned first-team all-state recognition at linebacker and all-Inland Empire League honors on offense and defense ... also was all-North Idaho tight end and linebacker, all-IEL Linebacker of the Year ... had 25 receptions for 391 yards and six TDs as a senior ... also had 52 tackles as a senior ... team captain ... as a junior, was first-team all-IEL at linebacker and second-team at tight end ... all-league honorable mention at safety as a sophomore ... state wrestling champion as a senior and state runner-up as a junior ... also a track athlete.
