Biography
2016-17: Appeared in 17 games… averaged 1.5 points per game… a tremendous shooter, connected on 42.1 percent of his 3-point attempts (8-of-19)… had nine points at Weber State… scored six points to help propel Idaho to the win at Idaho State.
2015-16: Appeared in 17 games… made his Vandal debut against CSU-Bakersfield… shot 48.5 percent from beyond the arc (16-of-33) and averaged 3.2 points per game… attempted just one 2-point field goal, hitting a mid-range jumper against Bakersfield… went off against Northern Colorado, going 6-of-7 from beyond the arc in the Idaho win…also went 5-of-6 from the line against the Bears, finishing with 23 points… connected on 8-of-14 3-point attempts against New Hope for a career-high 24 points… also had four assists against New Hope.
2014-15: Redshirted
High School: Straughan was an all-league and all-state point guard at Colton HS in Colton, Wash…scored 1,505 points and added 512 assists, 417 rebounds and 185 steals in his high school career…left Colton HS as the program’s all-time leading scorer…earned Washington Player of the Year honors in 2014 from the AP, WIBCA and Northwest Hoops…was a McDonald’s All-American nominee…also played football and baseball at Colton HS and pitched a perfect game in 2014 with 14 strikeouts…was all-state in football as a quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back…graduated from Colton HS with a 3.97 GPA and was Colton HS Salutatorian.
