      Hampton didn’t play football until he enrolled at Southwestern College in 2012 – five years after he graduated from San Diego’s Morse High School. He was a quick study and by the time he had played two seasons, he became a highly regarded player. He earned American Mountain All-Conference honors after his sophomore season, during which he also was ranked the 10th best junior college recruit by ESPN. He had 32 tackles, which includes 5.5 sacks, as a sophomore, in addition to four pass breakups and one blocked kick.
