2014: Schultz earned First-Team All-Big Sky honors after finishing second in the league with a .339 hitting percentage…she averaged 2.17 kills, a team-best .98 blocks and 2.76 points per set in 2014…her .339 attack percentage ranks seventh in school-history…Schultz leaves Idaho with three of the top 10 all-time hitting percentages…finishes career as Idaho’s all-time leader in hitting percentage with a .344…had a career-high 11 blocks at Portland State (Oct. 9), tied for the highest single-game block total in the conference…hit a season-best .684 (13-0-19) against Boise State (Sept. 12)…finished errorless on the attack 10 times in 2014…had 11 matches with 10 or more kills with a season-high 15 at UC Irvine (Sept. 5)…finishes with 512 career blocks…places third in program history with 454 career block assists…earned All-Tournament honors at the Idaho Nike Invitational…earned first career conference honor named the Big Sky Player of the Week for Sept. 8-14.
2013: Schultz earned First Team All-WAC honors after averaging 2.50 kills, 1.22 blocks and 3.25 points per set in 2013…her .376 hitting percentage for the season ranked second in the WAC, 40th in the nation and second in school history…her 1.22 blocks per set ranked fourth in the WAC and 80th in the nation…raised her career hitting percentage to a program record .346 entering her senior campaign…earned All-Tournament team honors at the WAC tournament, Wyo. tournament, Cougar Classic and Bronco Volleyball Classic…had 18 kills, 12 blocks and five digs with a .349 hitting percentage during the WAC tournament…had 15 double-digit kill matches with a career-high 17 kills at Wyoming on Aug. 30…had a career-high .765 hitting percentage whit 13 kills and no errors at Northern Arizona on Sept. 7…had a career-high 10 blocks at Wyoming on Aug. 30…tallied eight aces and 44 digs on the season.
2012: Schultz earned First Team All-WAC honors as a sophomore in 2012...she averaged 2.19 kills, 1.42 blocks and 0.54 digs per set while hitting .340 for the season...she had 138 block assists on the season, tying for fourth in a single season in Idaho history while averaging 1.42 per set, ranking second in the WAC...her.340 hitting percentage for the year led the team, is the fifth best in a season at Idaho and ranked fourth in the WAC...through two seasons, her career hitting percentage of .325 is the highest all-time at Idaho...Schultz played in all 28 regular season matches before missing the WAC tournament with injury...she had 13 double-digit kill matches and had a career-high 15 kills on Aug. 30 against Cal Poly...she hit .500 with 10 or more kills on two occasions in 2012, including a career-high .750 hitting percentage with 10 kills and one error on 12 attempts in a win over Denver on Sept. 13...she also had 13 kills and hit .500 on Sept. 27 against Texas State...Schultz had a career-high 9.0 total blocks on five occasions in 2012...she also had 19 service aces on the season, averaging 0.17 per set.
2011: Schultz averaged 1.53 kills and hit .298 during the 2011 season...she earned WAC All-Freshman Team honors…she averaged 1.27 blocks per set which ranked 34th in the country...she had a career-high 10 kills and no errors to hit .667 in a win over San Jose State on Sept. 24...had four matches in 2011 with seven or more kills and zero errors...had a career-high 8.0 blocks on Sept. 17 against UC Irvine...hit a career-high .727 with eight kills and no errors against Utah State on Oct. 7...ranked third in the WAC in the regular season in blocks, and sixth with a .336 hitting percentage in WAC matches.
2010: Alyssa sat out the season as a redshirt.
High School: Schultz attended Issaquah High School in Issaquah, Wash., where she was the volleyball team captain...she set school records her senior season with 304 kills, a .492 hitting percentage and 80 blocks...a First Team All-League, and an All-State selection, and was named to the Under Armour All-America watch list...she was a Second Team All-League selection her junior year at Issaquah High School...earned varsity letters in volleyball at A.C. Davis High School her freshman and sophomore years where she was a second-team all-league selection and team Co-MVP her sophomore year...graduated from IHS in 2010 with a 3.96 GPA and was a distinguished graduate and a National Honor Society member.
Personal: Full name is Alyssa Anne Schultz...born Oct. 23, 1991 in Bellevue, Wash...the daughter of Rick and Karen Schultz...has one sister, Kate...major at Idaho is finance...her dad played water polo and swam at Fullerton Junior College...her aunt Lisa Motes Connolly played volleyball at BYU and was a First Team All-American and was inducted into the BYU Athletic Hall of Fame...her cousin Jenny Connolly is currently on the swim team at the University of Tennessee.
