John Waters

Waters started with the Vandals in March of 2023 serving as football recruiting quality control.

Before arriving in Idaho, Waters worked at Butler University from 2022-23 as defensive quality control for the football program. At Butler, he generated scouting reports, broke down game and practice films, studied opponents, and aided with practice management. Waters helped lead Butler to a shutout victory over Dayton (31-0) on 10/1/22. Before the shutout, Dayton had an NCAA record of 501 consecutive games without being shut out (46 years). Waters was also part of Butler's 600th win in program history with a 31-10 victory over Marist on 10/22/22.

Waters earned a Bachelor's in Sports Business from Arizona State University in 2022. Before graduating Summa Cum Laude from ASU, Waters played a season of football at the University of Redlands in 2018.

The Phoenix, Ariz. native attended high school at Brophy College Preparatory where he was named First Team All-Region Punt Returner in 2017. Waters' mother has a Ph.D. in performance psychology and works with fighter pilots at Elgin Airforce Base in Fort Walton/Destin, Florida. His father works in education in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with his sister Harper. Waters' brother is a Navy Corpsman at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Waters is joined in Moscow by his fiancé and high school sweetheart, Lauren.
