Biography

REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2025): Named the starting quarterback prior to the start of the season... ran for 96 yards against Washington State in his Idaho debut (Aug. 30)... had 281 passing yards and 5 carries for 96 rushing yards on 20-of-25 pass attempts against St. Thomas (Sep. 6)... won Big Sky Player of the Week in week two... is the first quarterback since 2021 to rush for over 100 yards.

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2024): Appeared in all 13 games this season, as a special-play situational quarterback … saw his most action this season in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against NIU (Dec. 23) … finished the bowl game with 180 yards and a touchdown on 16-of-23 pass attempts … also had 11 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown in the bowl … on the season, he had 37 carries for 118 yards and six rushing touchdowns … was 18-of-28 on his pass attempts for 195 yards, one touchdown and one interception  … scored two rushing touchdowns against New Mexico State (Sept. 14) … six rushing touchdowns by a Bulldog quarterback are the fourth most in program history, and most since 2018 … became the second Bulldog quarterback to have six rushing touchdowns in a season in the last 30 years ... He completed 151-of-212 passes for a .712 completion percentage … a dual-threat quarterback, adding 65 carries for 612 yards and 10 touchdowns in the run game as a senior … averaged 196.9 offensive yards per game as a senior … helped his team to a perfect 14-0 record, capped with a 4A Washington State Championship … helped Graham-Kapowsin High School to defeat the No. 3-ranked high school team in the nation as a senior … 3-star rated quarterback by 247Sports.com … in basketball, he was named a team captain as well as a first team all-league selection … also earned all-state honors in basketball … was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, and Graham-Kapowsin High School Leadership Committee … volunteered with youth football and basketball teams … also volunteered with “A Step Ahead of Pierce County”, an agency for helping and working with disabled and developmentally delayed infants and toddlers.
 
PERSONAL: From Graham, Washington … son of Victor and Renee Wood … has five siblings … father played football at Washington State (1984-88) … brother Jordan Wood played football at Eastern Washington (2013-18) … favorite athlete is Kobe Bryant because of the mentality he had … biggest athletic thrill has been winning a national championship … had recruiting interest from Eastern Washington, Portland State, Idaho State and Nevada prior to choosing Fresno State… after entering the transfer portal, Wood heard from schools like Arkansas, Miami (FL), Michigan State, and Utah, opted to stay close to home with the Vandals ... is a pre-business major.
