Biography

RS JUNIOR (2017): Started all 12 games at middle linebacker...All-Sun Belt First Team...named Team Defensive MVP...ranked second in the conference with 123 tackles...most tackles by a Vandal since 2007 (David Vobora, 148)...led the league and ranked fifth nationally averaging 6.5 solo tackles per game...recorded seven games with double-digit tackles, including a career-best 16 three times (most single-game tackles by a Vandal since 2014)...had 14 tackles for loss, fourth most in the conference...registered two sacks on the season to go with one pass breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery...led the team in tackles eight times on the season...expected to graduate spring 2018 with a degree in organizational sciences.

RS SOPHOMORE (2016): A dynamic force on the Vandals’ defense ... All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention ... led the team in total tackles with 107, which includes eight (six solo and two assists) in the Vandals’ Famous Idaho Potato Bowl victory ... was second with 10 tackles for loss (-36 yards) ... also had one sack (-6 yards), two fumble recoveries and one blocked kick ... had a career-high 14 tackles at Louisiana-Lafayette and a career-high three tackles for loss (-15 yards) in the Vandals’ opener against Montana State ... finished the season fifth in the Sun Belt in solo tackles (47th nationally) and ninth in total tackles.

SOPHOMORE (2015): Played in three games before sustaining a season-ending injury ... had 10 tackles in those three games.

FRESHMAN (2014): Played in seven of 11 games; started four ... had 21 total tackles (15 solo and six assists).

2013: Grayshirt.

High school: As a junior, Lashley had 54 tackles and three sacks. The following summer, he had a stellar showing at the St. Louis Elite Football Combine where he had the most reps in the 225 bench press with 17. He was a National Underclassmen Five-Star Central MVP.

Personal: Son of Eugene and Katrina Young...married and has four children.
