Biography
2013-14: Nikitin earned first-team all-WAC honors in singles and second-team all-WAC honors in doubles in 2014…He was the WAC Player of the Month in November and the WAC Player of the Week on Feb. 3…he went 21-13 in singles on the season and 11-8 in dual-match singles…he played all of his matches at the top three singles positions in 2014 and went 4-4 at No. 1, 6-3 at No. 2 and 1-1 at No. 3…he went 18-12 in doubles including a 9-6 record with Odon Barta and a 5-1 mark with Cesar Torres…reached the semifinals at the Boise State Fall Tournament and the round of 16 at the ITA Mountain Regional Tournament.
Pervious School: Nikitin spent his first three seasons playing college tennis at South Carolina State, where he increased his national singles rank each season…as a freshman he was ranked as high as No. 121 in the NCAA in singles, increasing that to No. 96 as a sophomore and No. 86 as a junior…he went 19-1 in No. 3 singles for South Carolina State in 2013, helping the team to the MEAC championship and NCAA tournament berth…was the MEAC Tournament Outstanding Performer.
Junior Tennis: Nikitin was ranked as high as No. 428 in ITF World Juniors.
