Brianna Chambers joins the Idaho women's basketball program as an assistant coach, bringing more than two decades of coaching experience at the collegiate level to Moscow.
Chambers comes to Idaho after seven seasons at Niagara University, where she served as associate head coach and offensive and recruiting coordinator. During her time with the Purple Eagles, Chambers helped guide the program to its first MAAC Championship appearance since the 1996-97 season and its first Division I postseason victory. Niagara also posted a program-best 16-4 record in MAAC play in 2022-23, finishing 18-13 overall.
Chambers played a key role in the development of several of Niagara's top players. She coached Angel Parker, a unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection, and Aaliyah Parker, who earned MAAC All-Rookie honors before later becoming a First Team All-MAAC selection. Chambers also helped Niagara finish second in the MAAC in scoring in 2022-23 while placing five players in double figures.
Prior to Niagara, Chambers spent four seasons at the University of Portland from 2014-18. She served as the Pilots' co-defensive coordinator and guards' skill development coach while also leading leadership and Life After Basketball classes. During her time at Portland, Chambers coached 2015 State Farm College 3-Point Championship winner Cassandra Brown, five 1,000-point scorers and multiple All-West Coast Conference selections.
Chambers served as the head women's basketball coach at Dominican University of California from 2007-14. She helped lead the program through its transition from the NAIA to NCAA Division II and placed an emphasis on both academic and athletic development. Her teams maintained a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average during her tenure, and she coached multiple all-conference selections and the school's all-time leading scorer at the time, Alisha Flaaten.
Chambers began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Cal State Monterey Bay from 2004-07. She helped the program transition from the NAIA to NCAA Division II and into the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
A native of California, Chambers played basketball and ran track at Bakersfield College, where she earned an associate degree in liberal arts in 1999. She continued her playing career at Cal State Bakersfield and earned a bachelor's degree in communications in 2002. Chambers later earned a master's degree in sport management from the University of San Francisco in 2009.
