SENIOR (2023): Appeared in 12 games with seven perfect games for field goal attempts... Tied career-high field goals going 4-4 in win over FBS opponent Nevada... Earned STATS Perform National Player of the Week and Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week honors following Nevada match-up... Hit longest career field goal of 53 yards against Weber State... Punted 25 times for 1,147 yards with an average of 45.9 yards... Completed eight 50+ yard punts with a career-high punt of 70 yards recorded against Nevada... Hit 29-yard field goal in OT to secure a playoff victory against Southern Illinois.

JUNIOR (2022): Kicked all field goal, PATs and did all punting for the Vandals in 2022... Named Second-Team All-Big Sky as a kicker... Was 15/20 (75%) in field goals in 2022... Went 48/48 (100%) in PATs... Punted 34 times for 1,357 yards, an average of 39.9 yards... Pinned opponents inside their 20 eight times... Went 4-4 in field goals against Drake... Made a season-long 47-yard field goal against Montana.

BEFORE IDAHO: Ricardo is a kicker and punter from Los Angles, Calif. He comes to Idaho after two seasons at Riverside City College where he racked up first-team All-American, All-Conference and All-California honors. He set a school record twice last season, kicking field goals of 56 and 59 yards. His 59-yarder came in the CCCAA State Championship game. He has five 50+ yards field goals and six of 40+ yards. In 2021 had a 100 percent conference efficiency rating and led the team with 95 points. For his career he is 28 of 32 on field goals and 91 of 92 on PAT’s

PERSONAL: Ricardo is the son of Ana Viramontes and Juan Chavez and plans on majoring in kinesiology at Idaho.
