Biography

2011: Sele averaged 1.77 kills, 1.08 blocks and 2.38 points per game while hitting .283 during the 2011 season...was a second-team all-WAC selection…she earned the team’s Kathy Clark Academic Award…she had a season-high 10 kills to go along with a career-high .600 hitting percentage on Sept. 17 at UC Irvine, as she had just one error on 15 attempts in that match...she had a season-high eight blocks on two occasions, including a win against Louisiana Tech on Oct. 27 while playing in just two sets...finished with 107.0 total blocks and 175 kills in the regular season.

2010: Sele finished the season with 108 kills and 86 total blocks...she hit .199 on the season and averaged 1.33 kills and 1.06 blocks per game...she had double-digit kills on two occasions, including career-highs with 13 kills and a .500 hitting percentage at Nevada on Nov. 4...she had a career-high 11 total blocks on Sept. 18 at Gonzaga...she hit a then career-high .385 in Idaho’s win over Boise State on Oct. 2... had seven kills in consecutive matches on Sept. 29 and Oct. 2, both against Boise State.

2009: Sele saw limited action in her freshman year as a Vandal, playing in six games in 2009...finished with four kills on the season, including two against San Jose State on Nov. 12...had a career-high three blocks on Sept. 5 against UCLA and finished the season with five blocks.

At Tumwater High School: Sele led her team to the 2008 state title...was a four-time all-league selection...earned first team all-league honors as a senior...played with the South Sound Ohana club team at Olympia, Wash....earned MVP honors at the Emerald City Tournament in 2008...also participated in track and field.

Personal: Full name is Alexandra Rose Sele...born Jan. 7, 1991 at Juneau, Alaska...daughter of Brad and Patricia Sele...cousin Aaron Sele is a former Major League Baseball pitcher and aunt Jo Ann Wahle played volleyball at Creighton.
