Biography

2008: Played in 27 matches and started 16... averaged 1.15 kills and 1.05 blocks per set... blocks per set average (1.05) ranked No. 100 in the nation... totaled 11 block assists at Gonzaga to tie for fourth on Idaho’s single-set records list... totaled 10 block assists at Boise State to tie for 10th on Idaho’s single-set records list... ranked sixth in the WAC for blocks (1.05) and fifth in WAC games for blocks (1.15)... set career highs with six digs and four aces vs. Utah State and 12 blocks at Gonzaga.

2007: Played in 107 games and started 28 of the 30 matches in which she saw action... averaged 2.03 kills per game with a .175 hitting percentage... ranked second on the team with 19 service aces... ranked third on the team with 107 blocks and 296.0 points... had 10 matches with 10-plus kills... tallied a double-double with 13 kills and a career high 11 blocks at San Jose State... earned career highs for kills (14, twice), and digs (5)... hitting percentage improved to .198 in 16 WAC contests.

2006: Played in 106 games and started 30 matches... selected to the Western Athletic Conference’s all-freshman team... recorded 189 kills to rank fifth on the team... attack average (.216) ranked second on the team... had 88 total blocks... recorded eight games with 10 or more kills, including a season high 13 at Washington State... was selected Idaho’s Most Improved Player.

At Grangeville High School: Pederson was chosen as the 2004 Grangeville High School most valuable player after leading the Bulldogs to their third straight appearance at the 2A state tournament... was the MVP her junior year and Rookie of the Year her sophomore season... also competed in basketball and track and field for the Bulldogs... helped her team to the state championship in basketball during the 2003 and 2004 seasons, earning Idaho State 2A Player of the Year honors... was a second team all-state selection her sophomore and junior seasons as a track and field athlete... basketball team won back-to-back State Championships.

Personal: Full name is Debbie Jean Pederson... born Dec. 13, 1986 at Lewiston, Idaho... daughter of Ray and Darcy Pederson... has one sister, Brenda, and two brothers, Brian and Russ... member of the National Honor Society... majoring in business management.
