Biography

2018: Averaged 2.66 digs per set on the season… Second on the team in total digs… Recorded 24 service aces, third on the team… Posted a season-high 19 digs against UC-Riverside on Sept. 14… Recorded 18 double-figure dig matches… Played in all 123 sets…

2017: Twice totaled a season-high 16 digs (Montana & North Dakota)...recorded 246 total digs...second on team averaging 2.44 digs per set...recorded 11 double-figure dig matches...season high three kills against Weber State...10 aces on the season...played in all 101 sets.

2016: Made first collegiate appearance vs. Fairfield in Idaho’s season opener…played 38 sets in 17 total matches…1.71 digs per set…65 total digs.

High School: Totaled 487 kills over her four-year varsity career at Shorewood H.S., under head coach Jen Chartrand...she played in 126 sets, averaging 3.9 kills per set...as a senior she helped lead the Thunderbirds to a 21-1 record with 310 total kills...she totaled 431 career digs and 91 aces as a T-Bird...as a senior Hopen posted a career-best .542 attack percentage in the T-Birds sweep of Glacier Peak...as a junior she posted career-high 22 kills in Shorewood’s five-set win over Shorecrest...hopen is a four time All-Wesco First Team selection and a two-time Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Athlete of the Week...she earned weekly honors from the Everett Herald and was twice named a Player to Watch by the Seattle Times and Everett Herald...Hopen played four years of club ball for the Seattle Juniors under the direction of Shannon Pratt.

Personal: Daughter of Sue and Chris Hopen...has two older brothers, Mackey and Zane...father played football at Western Washington...Mackey was a swimmer at Cal Poly...has a cousin, Ryan Appleby, who played basketball at Washington...would like to go into geology after graduation.
