Deandre Robinson and Meghan Singh have been named this week’s Vandals of the Week, after strong fall semesters.
Robinson, a communication major from Monroeville, Ala., on the men’s basketball team, recently completed his first semester as a Vandal.
“My career goal is to graduate, one of the first in my family,” said Robinson. “Then hopefully get out in the field and find something good to use my degree.
“My favorite class would probably be the persuasion communication class I took. I learned a lot from that class, I think I liked that class the most. It just related to my life, and everyday things that you do. It was the best class for me.”
Singh, a finance and marketing major from Mesa, Ariz., competes for the women’s golf team at Idaho. Just a sophomore, Singh is still working out what might come next.
“I’ve always had an interest in marketing and I think it also helps to do something with it,” Singh said. “I like them just because even if I want to go into another field, or go to law school or something, I could still do that with these degrees.
“My favorite class last semester was business law. I really liked it. It was kind of what made me think about the possibility of going into law school, just because everything we covered was really interesting. I feel like I learned a lot from it.”
Both were appreciative of the recognition for their work in the classroom and are looking forward to continuing to excel this semester.
“It means a lot,” Robinson said. “My freshman year I kind of struggled. Coming back to now, my junior year, after a stop in community college, the jump in my GPA was amazing. It feels great.”
“I think it’s awesome. I really appreciate it,” said Singh. “It’s really nice, especially since last semester was just so much different than anything we’ve ever had. It feels really good.”
