MOSCOW, Idaho – Camryn Crouch and Leonick Tamba have been named this week’s Vandals of the Week.
Crouch, an exercise, sport and health science major from Boulder Creek, Calif., boasts a 3.85 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and earned Big Sky All-Academic honors last spring.
“Someday I’d like to become a P.E. teacher because I like working with kids and I just want to teach them at a young age, how to stay physically active and the importance of it,” said Crouch.
Tamba is in his second year with the program and intends to graduate in the fall with his degree in journalism. Tamba earned Big Sky All-Academic honors last fall and currently has a cumulative GPA of 3.58.
“It’s been good talking to professors and they’re letting me know opportunities to intern,” Tamba said. “I’m going to graduate in the fall. It’s just been kind of crazy, but this has always been the goal; to get your degree, finish up school and get ready to join the work force.”
Both have been recognized before for their performance as athletes, but were thankful for the recognition for the student portion of being a student-athlete.
“It feels great to be recognized in the classroom, just because I’ve been working really hard for the past two years to earn a great GPA,” Crouch said.
“It’s really cool,” said Tamba. “There’s lots of other people, many other students that are worthy of getting that too, so to be recognized for it is really cool. It just makes me want to stay on top of my work even more. Really humbling, and I’m super grateful for it.”
