DENMARK-The Vandal's Joachim Olsen set a personal best and broke his own Big West Conference record in the shot put this past weekend en route to winning the Dannish National Championship.

Olsen's throw of 68-6 (20.88m) ranks him 11th in the world. Olsen's previous mark of 66-5.75 (20.26m) was set at this year's NCAA Championships.

"My technique is really good right now and I'm really fast." Olsen said

Joachim also won the discus competition with a throw of 191-11.5 (58.51m).

Olsen will be competing at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney for his native country in September.
