BOISE, Idaho - The University of Idaho women's tennis team finished off its weekend-long tournament by taking on host Boise State, losing 5-2.
"We were in every match, both the doubles and all the singles. The matches that we didn't win, we knew what we had to do, we just couldn't execute like we would have liked to," tennis coach Katrina Perlman said.
Vandals' two wins came from the No. 2 and No. 6 singles spots. Jessica Hubbard took care of Alissa Ayling, 6-2, 6-1. Tara Fielding handed a loss to Boise State's Anna Curtolo, 6-3, 6-4.
"Jessica and Tara played really smart," Perlman said.
In a close match, Tiffany Coll snuck past Efrat Leopold, edging away, 6-4, 7-5.
"I was happy with our performance. We left it on the court. You can't ask for more."
Next up, the women take on regional foe Gonzaga, 1 p.m., March 19 in Spokane.
