Vandals stumble on road, fall to Gonzaga in five

 

SPOKANE, Wash. - The University of Idaho Vandals fell in five hard fought games to the Gonzaga University Bulldogs on Tuesday night in Martin Centre, game scores were 30-25, 30-28, 25-30, 20-30, 15-17.  

Idaho falls to 3-11 on the season and 2-1 in WAC play. Gonzaga improves to 5-10 on the season with the win.

 

"We played fairly well in the first two games, and won those," head coach Debbie Buchanan said. "We dropped our intensity level and our focus in the next two games before we came out and played great in game five before losing it at the end."

 

Senior Saxony Brown had a solid game for Idaho in the loss as she stroked 16 kills and recorded 30 assists. She also recorded 11 digs notching a double-double.

 

"Saxony hit very well for us tonight she made some kills and hit for a good percentage (.282)," Buchanan said.

 

Idaho doesn't have to wait long to get back into the win column as they resume WAC play with Fresno State coming to Memorial Gym, Thursday, the match begins at 7 p.m.
