Former University of Idaho men's basketball player Keoni Watson was selected in the ninth round of the 2008 NBA Developmental League Draft.
Watson was selected 140th overall by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in Friday's (Nov. 7) draft.
Watson played at Idaho from 2005-2007 and averaged 18.1 points per game as a senior. He scored 34 points at Hawai`i to rank No. 15 on Idaho's single-game records list and hit six 3-pointers at Utah State to rank second. He also ended his senior season ranked on Idaho's single-season records list for points (5th, 543), 3-point field goals made (5th, 70), and scoring average (13th, 18.1). He earned Idaho's Ronald White Award as the team's Most Outstanding Player
Watson played for several European teams last season, including Siroki Prima Pivo of the Adriatic League in Southeastern Europe.
