Women open WAC season against Boise State

On Tap This Week:
Idaho opens the 2009 Western Athletic Conference season on Saturday at 2 p.m. (PST) with a home date against Boise State. The Vandals will then play host to Utah State on Monday at 7 p.m. Both games will be played at the Cowan Spectrum.

A Look at Boise State:
The Broncos enter the weekend with a 7-7 record and have won two of their last three. BSU is coached by Gordy Presnell, who is in his fourth season at the helm of the program.

The Broncos entered the season as the WAC favorites by both the coaches and media, but injuries have decimated the team. In all, the team has lost six starters this season alone, including preseason WAC Player of the Year Tasha Harris. The team's active leading scorer and rebounder is sophomore forward Marisa Stotler, who averages 9.6 points and 6.7 rebounds.

As a team, the Broncos average 63.4 points per game while allowing 64.3. BSU is also out-rebounded by a 42.9 - 41.1 margin on average. The Broncos also have forced the most turnovers in the WAC this season (292), while Idaho has committed the fewest (185).

Boise State leads the all-time series, 32-26, and has won the last four meetings, including a 65-60 decision last time the Broncos came to Moscow.
