SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The University of Idaho endured another tough loss at the Mission Inn of Pismo Beach Invitational, this time at the hands of host team Cal Poly in four sets.

Idaho came out strong in the fourth set and held a 23-20 lead and then a 24-22 margin, however Cal Poly (4-9) fought back with three straight points to move ahead 25-24. The Vandals scored two straight and held the advantage until the Mustangs broke it with three more points for a 30-28 score.

The loss is Idaho's sixth-consecutive defeat.

"This was a tough one," Idaho coach Debbie Buchanan said. "We came out a little slow, but we got better as a team as the match went on. We had our opportunities and we will learn from it, unfortunately we have to learn the hard way."

Sarah Conwell had a strong match as she totaled 13 kills, five blocks, four digs and hit .290. Kelsey Taylor added 10 kills and a .389 hitting percentage and Debbie Pederson finished with 10 blocks.

As a team the Vandals hit .196; aided by a .520 hitting percentage in the third set. Idaho held a 15-7 advantage in blocks and totaled just 18 hitting errors.

Anna McKinney was honored on the Mission Inn of Pismo Beach All Tournament as she averaged 1.25 kills and 1.67 blocks in three matches. She also was the team's leader in hitting percentage at .250. This is the second All-Tournament honor of the season for McKinney.
